Viva Las Vegas!

It's hard to know what to say.... it is so over the top that it's difficult to describe! This is the Mirage, the hotel Graham found on the Internet for a reasonable price, which turned out to be the most expensive ever built on the strip. There are three wings, at 120 degrees to each other. Each casino is a world of its own, with huge numbers of shops, restaurants, bars, pools etc. You could stay inside one for a week and still have things to do and see.

This is the view of the strip from our window. In the bottom left hand corner is the volcano that erupts every night to a spectacular drum and music score. The Venetian is across the road.

Here people can take gondola rides. The gondolas go into the building which is built like streets in Venice. The Paris resort, likewise, is like walking through the streets of Paris. The only place we saw clouds in Las Vegas was in the fake skies of the Venetian and Paris resorts! And btw, the Paris resort does have an Eiffel Tower, and you can take rides up it for a view of Las Vegas!

Graham did put the odd dollar on a machine - and some of them were BIG machines, but mostly we just wandered in and out of the resorts gawking at the sights. We walked lots, and hopped on and off the monorail to see as much as possible.
